About

The Blogger Alice was created in the Winter of 2014 as a creative outlet, when my blogging addiction had grown out of hand at this point. Inspired by the readings of other fashion, beauty and lifestyle blogs, I add my own personal touch to every post I do.

I may be only 19 years old but my passion for all things blogging, beauty and fashion has been with me for many years. I have always had a love of writing and when the blogosphere took off I came to realise it provided the unique opportunity for me to get my voice heard and harness my creative nature. Since then The Blogger Alice has been slowly developing a following of loyal readers and growing in success.

09.07.17 // My First Year Uni Room

It took me quite a while to really settle into my room at uni and make it homely, which probably explains why I'm doing this post at the end of the year! I had an en suite room in halls which I've totally grown to love, there's something so exciting about being able to start a room completely afresh and make it your own. I thought I'd share some pics of the how my room was, partly for my own memories but also potentially as inspiration for any of you heading to halls. As you can probably tell fairy lights and pictures proved to be firm favourites as I found both really good at brightening up the room with colour and lighting, and they were both quite comforting to be surrounded by!
And just for contrast, this is how it is empty: I also think I want to do before and after pictures of my new bedroom, for the same reasons as I've done this post so hopefully that will be coming very soon!

The Review // Sony A5000

My Fujifilm Finepix S4800 has taken a real beating over the past couple of years that I've had it so it was time I invested in a new camera. Originally I was planning to get the Canon 600D, a camera that would give me a chance to develop my photography skills and would take beautiful shots for years to come. The main issue was the size, which made me look into compact SLR cameras. Not only are they significantly cheaper and lighter, but most also contain the key features of their larger counterparts, like interchangeable lenses. The bloggers' favourite seems to be the Olympus Pen EPL-7, and therefore that's where I started my search but due to expense I ended up going for something similar but significantly cheaper. The main features of the Sony A5000 are the "selfie" screen, interchangeable lenses and wi-fi connectivity along with many other tricks that the camera can do. I spent about £250 on mine - pricey but considering I believe good quality photos will be t…

The Product Review // Mac Face And Body Foundation

Now I'm a person who loves natural, light coverage foundations. I've got loads of freckles and I don't like how high coverage foundations would just cover them up and leave behind a really fake base.

When I had my mac makeup lesson earlier this year, I will be doing a blog post on it soon, I was matched to the shade N1 in this foundation. The makeup artist said the sheer, dewy finish was perfect for my skin.

I do love this foundation, but oh my goodness it is a difficult one to work with! The coverage is light, but the more you work it into the skin the more it builds up. This seems to be ideal but there is a fine line between getting that extra coverage you may need and cakeiness. I find that using a brush like the Real Techniques buffing brush, or the large, pointed one from this brush set, to pour the product onto and then taking it straight to the skin. Blend in the majority of it and then take a clean large brush, any brush works just as long as it's clean, to just…
